Government to buy new Presidential jet



The minister for defence and interior, Dominic Nitiwul has confirmed the government is in process of acquiring a new presidential jet.

According to the minister, the movie is based on a request by the Ghana air force for procurement of the main aircraft for government business.

Answering questions from North Tongue mp, Hon. Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa wanted a confirmation of revelation by the director of communications at the presidency Eugene Arhin that, the government is buying a new jet.

The defence minister disclosed consultations with Parliament, trade unions, and Religious bodies are going ahead of purchasing the new private jet.

In September last year, the director of communications at the presidency, Hon. Eugene Arhin speaking to a journalist at the Jubilee House, revealed that the Interior minister has already commenced the process to acquire a new jet to save the country from cost.

He added that the government has decided to buy a bigger jet to save us from all this trouble.

Currently, Ghana has two jets that were procured by the Kuffour government. The Falcon jet and one big other but the bigger one was later cancelled, leaving only one jet.
