Virgil Abloh, a Ghanaian-American designer dead. Born in 1980 in Rockford by Mr and Mrs Nee Abloh. He is survived by a loving wife Shannon Abloh. He had two children Grey Abloh and Lowe Abloh.
He was the director of the LVMH group which owns Louis Vuitton. He founded the brand off-white in 2012. In 2018, he was named the men's artistic director of Louis Vuitton.
Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others. He often said, "everything I do is for the 17 years old version of myself".
The LVMH group which owns Louis Vuitton tweeted about his death and in a statement"we are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer but a visionary, he was a man with a beautiful soul. He was a man with great wisdom. We thank you all for your love and support and we ask for privacy as we grieve and celebrate Virgil's life".
Virgil battled a form of cancer called cardiac angiosarcoma since 2019. He battled this sickness privately. Despite going through many challenges and treatment, Virgil helm many institutions that spans fashion,art and culture.
