BIOGRAPHY

Asamoah Gyan is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a striker. He was born on 22nd November 1985 in Accra.

FAMILY

Gyan is a son of Cecilia Amoako and Mr.Baffour .Gyan had a brother called Baffour Gyan who once played for the stars.

Asamoah was married to Gifty in 2013 and they had 3 children. Frederick, Raphael and Floyd.

EDUCATION

Gyan had his early education at the seven great pricess academies at Dansoman. He completed it in 1999. He further went to Accra Academy where he had his secondary education. 


EARLY CAREER

Asamoah Gyan began his career in football in 2003 where he played for the Ghana Premier League club Liberty Professionals. He scored 10 goals in 16 league matches. He later joined Seria A club Udinese. He played 39 matches scoring 11 goals.

In 2008, he joined league1 club Rennes. He scored 14 goals in 48 appearances. He later joined the premier league club, Sunderland. He scored 10 goals in 34 games. In 2011, Gyan joined Al Ain of the UAE pro league on loan. Scoring 24 goals in 27 league games made him the top goals scorer.

INTERNATIONAL CAREER

Asamoah Gyan scored against Somalia on 19th November 2003 when he was only 17 years old. He scored a 90th-minute goal which sent Ghana forward in the FIFA world cup qualifies. He became the youngest player to score for the black stars. He scored 4 times in 7 matches during the 2006 FIFA world cup qualifies results Ghana qualification.

Gyan made 109 appearances for the black stars,  scoring 51 goals. Asamoah and his younger brother Baffour Gyan pushed Ghana to the African cup of nationals in 2008. In the 2010, Africa cup of nationals, Gyan scored 3 goals the tournament. He was part of the squad that took Ghana to the African cup of nationals in 2012. In June 2013, Gyan scored 2 goals in a 3-1 win against Sudan taking the stars to the FIFA world cup in Brazil in 2014.

On 2nd June 2014, Gyan was the captain for the black stars team that win over the United States in the team opening match. He also captains the stars to the African cup of nationals in 2015.


GYAN DIVORCE

Gyan filled a divorce paper against his wife in the Açcra high court. They were together for almost 13 years having 3 children. Gyan again requested for DNA test for his children although the test prove he is the father of the children. The court later finalized his decision and they got separated.

GYAN MISSED PENALTY

Gyan had a clear chance to put Ghana into their first semi-finals finals game in the world cup but he failed after missing a crucial penalty resulting in Ghana's defeat against Uruguay.

In 2012, during the African cup of nationals, Gyan missed a crucial semi-finals penalty resulting in Ghana's losing a goal to Neil. Ghana becomes out of the tournament after the loss.

GYAN BUSINESS

Asamoah Gyan owns numerous businesses in Ghana. Ma vits Noodles and Rice, ASA Band, Boxing promotion, Jet link Events and Logistics, Baby jet plaza, Real estate and Baby jet transport.


CARS AND HOUSES

Gyan shocked Ghanaians with his La Basilica De Baby jet mansion. A luxury mansion with 3 floors which each has unique features. The building is estimated to be worth $3million. The house is said to have bulletproof doors and has many more interesting features.

Gyan also owns a collection of different cars including a Rolls Royce Phantom which cost about$400.000.  He also owns a Mercedez Benz SLS Amg which cost$250.000.

BABY JET AIRLINES

In October 2017, Gyan was granted an air carrier licence (ACL) by the Ghanaian Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). The start-up name is Baby jet airlines. The start-up is permitted to begin with its AOC certificate drive.


ASAMOAH GYAN SONGS

Gyan has many songs to his credit. His interest in music made him work with highlife artist Castro. Many of his songs include; Dirty enemies ft Stonebwoy, Odo pa with his bosom friend Castro and Kofi Kinaata, Do the dance ft Castro, African girls ft Castro and Accelerator down ft Castro, Anaanu and John Boye.

GYAN RETIREMENT

Gyan announced his retirement from International Football on 20th May 2019. He later reversed his decision following a discussion with the president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa AKuffo Addo.
